Report: A new approach for coupled simulation of liquid metal flow

Induction furnaces that ensure contact less control of electromagnetic (EM) stirring, molten metal free surface and temperature are widely applied in metallurgical industry. Requirements for the free surface shape and behaviour are defined by the different tasks of particular technological processes. In this article a new general approach for coupled 3D simulation of liquid metal flow, free surface dynamics and EM field in induction furnaces of various designs is presented.
