Niclas Müller to become new Chairman of the Board of VDM Metals

Effective 1 September 2015, Dr. Niclas Müller (50) will take over as Chairman of the Management Board of VDM Metals GmbH. He will replace Dr. Jürgen Olbrich (60), who will remain in-service of the new owner Lindsay Goldberg for special projects.

"We thank Dr. Jürgen Olbrich for his engagement in leading the company in the past 10 years. At the same time we are pleased to announce Dr. Niclas Müller as successor. Dr. Müller is a top manager with an outstanding reputation in the industry as well as among mid-sized companies," said Dr. Thomas Ludwig, Managing Partner at Lindsay Goldberg Vogel, Düsseldorf.

About the new Chairman

Dr. Müller has held various leading positions with ThyssenKrupp. He was Member of the Management Board of the Business Area Services, responsible among others for the Business Unit Specialty Products. In addition, he led the Business Unit Plant Technology as Chairman of the Management Board. The acquisition of VDM Metals has been completed on 31 July. Dr. Niclas Müller states: "With Lindsay Goldberg Vogel we have the chance to develop a growth strategy and invest in the expansion of the company."

Further arrangements

As former CFO of the VAC-Group, Andrea Bauer (48) has gained extensive experience with the successful implementation of a sustainable growth strategy and the value-oriented leadership of a private-equity portfolio company. The certified accountant and tax counselor will succeed Ulrike Meiritz (55) as of 1 September 2015, who will take on new professional challenges. Lindsay Goldberg also thanks her for her service to the company. Dr. Franz-Josef Wahlers (62) will continue in his role in the Management Board, responsible for Production, Quality and R&D.
