At the THERMPROCESS/METEC exhibition in Düsseldorf, Datapaq introduced a new quality control solution for high-temperature heat treatment applications. Featuring up to 20 channels and a large memory for 3.6 million data points, the Datapaq TP3 data loggers record detailed temperature profiles.
The loggers can be powered with any of three user-interchangeable battery types: Lithium, Alkaline, or rechargeable NiMH batteries. Users can perform ten consecutive profiling runs before downloading to a computer via USB or Bluetooth. Even water or gas quench processes can be profiled – with variable sampling intervals that can be programmed to capture fast temperature changes when needed. The measured temperature range is -100 to 1,370 °C with a ±0.3 °C logger accuracy. The systems perform temperature uniformity surveys (TUS) and system accuracy tests (SAT) compliant with AMS 2750E and CQI-9. Each logger is supplied with an onboard digital calibration certificate allowing automatic measurement correction functions which eliminate risk of human error and save time on reporting. For ease of use in any process, 20-channel versions are available with thermocouple sockets either on opposite ends or all on one side. An individual logger can be pre-configured for various thermocouple types to suit customer needs. An optional radio telemetry feature enables live process monitoring. The loggers feature a rugged stainless steel case machined from a single block. They can be used with the manufacturer’s Furnace Tracker® system which includes the Insight analysis software and thermocouples for a wide range of applications such as slab/billet reheat, aluminum processing, steel plate and tube annealing, steel lamination, bright annealing, aluminum brazing, copper and stainless steel brazing. Datapaq also supplies new, enduring thermal barriers designed to meet the individual heat-treatment application demands. (Source: Datapaq Ltd.)
