Ebner receives next order from Voestalpine Stahl

In March, Voestalpine Stahl GmbH placed an order with industrial furnace manufacturer Ebner Industrieofenbau to upgrade their existing galvanizing line 4 at their Linz works. The main sections to be upgraded are the overaging zone with additional cooling zone, new strip guide rolls, as well as the holding section ahead of the zinc pot, including integration of an inductor to quickly reheat the strip to galvanizing temperature.

The facility will be upgraded in spring of 2017 within a 3-week time frame. A new bell annealer facility for cold rolling mill 2 (KWW2) with a total of 16 new workbases was also ordered from Ebner as part of the “Linz 2020” project, and started up production on schedule at the beginning of 2016.

This state-of-the-art facility is designed to maximize energy efficiency while minimizing emissions. The facility was also designed to accommodate an upgrade to fully-automatic production, which is planned for a later time. The order also included a new water system for the entire bell annealer facility.
